On January 22, 2024, the 2023 Law School Year-end Work Summary and Exchange Meeting and Alumni Work Development Meeting was successfully held. The leaders of Southeast University School of Law, including Prof. Ouyang Benqi, Dean, Prof. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean, Prof. Shan Pingji, Prof. Meng Hongzhi, Prof. Gong Xianghe, Prof. Yu Lixhen, Prof. Wang Lusheng, Prof. Hu Chaoyang, Prof. Chen Hongbing, Prof. Li Chuan, Prof. Liang Yunbao and other faculty members of the School of Law, representatives of alumni associations from all over the country, as well as representatives of retired faculty members including Mr. Mao Huixi, Mr. Song Tao, Mr. Wang Jinyuan, Mr. Wang Jinyuan, Mr. Wang Jianyuan, Mr. Wang Jianzhong, Mr. Wang Jinyuan, Mr. Wang Jinyuan, and other representatives of the School of Law. Item 1: Year-end work Summary and Exchange Meeting

This year-end work summary and exchange meeting was chaired by Mr. Liu Qichuan. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Liu Qichuan gave a warm welcome to the teachers and expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Bai Jiachun, the alumnus who sponsored and supported this meeting, and Mr. Pan Qirong, the mentor of career planning of the Law School. He said that this conference aims to comprehensively summarize the results of the work of the Law School in the past year, and jointly look forward to a better blueprint for the development of the Law School.

Afterwards, Mr. Ouyang Benqi delivered a speech. Mr. Ouyang Benqi reviewed the scientific research and talent cultivation of the Law School in 2023, and pointed out that academic excellence is the soul of the Law School and student-oriented is the foundation of the Law School. the foundation of running a school, teachers as the foundation is the foundation of the hospital, learning to use is the road to strengthening the college. He sent the law school in the new year can continue to maintain and enhance the existing results, and constantly move forward, with higher standards and more stringent requirements to promote the sustainable development of the college.

Next, the leaders of each sub-division of the school, the director of the teaching and research department, the person in charge of the three major scientific research platforms, and the chairman of the labor union carried out the review of their duties.

Vice Dean Xiong Zhanglin reviewed and summarized the results of graduate teaching, scientific research and the work of Southeast Law in his charge; Vice Dean Shan Pingji systematically summarized the undergraduate teaching work in his charge and pointed out the direction of the next step in the teaching work; Fei Qianqian, secretary of the Youth League Committee, sorted out the achievements of the School of Law in student work this year in terms of the organization construction and the improvement of the comprehensive quality of students. The three teachers' debriefing was informative and clear, fully demonstrating the achievements of the Law School in 2023, which was fully affirmed by the attending teachers and alumni.

In the debriefing session of the directors of the teaching and research departments, the directors of six teaching and research departments, including jurisprudence and legal history, constitutional law and administrative law, civil and commercial law, criminal law, international law, engineering law, etc., summarized their reports respectively. Mr. Miao Zeyi, Ms. Chen Daoying, Ms. Ren Danli, Mr. Liang Yunbao, Mr. Ye Quan and Ms. Xing Chenxi systematically reviewed the fruitful achievements of their respective faculties in scientific research, teaching and other aspects, as well as sorted out and shared the latest development of their disciplines, so that the attending teachers and alumni systematically understood how the work of the faculties was carried out. In the new year, the academic departments will steadily promote the construction of disciplines, and actively promote the development of cross-fertilization of disciplines.

In the debriefing session of the heads of the three scientific research platforms, Mr. Gong Xianghe, Executive Director of the Human Rights Research Institute of Southeast University, Mr. Wang Lusheng, Executive Director of the Judicial Big Data Research Base of the People's Court of Southeast University, and Mr. Shan Pingji, Director of the Civil Prosecution Research Base of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, made speeches one after another, summarizing the research results of the scientific research bases, and pointing out that they will further construct a platform for multilevel disciplinary exchanges and communication to produce a series of high level.

In the reportage of the union chairman, Mr. Liu Jianli pointed out that in the past year, the union gave full play to its role of service and protection, carried out a number of cultural and sports activities, and guaranteed the participation of staff in the democratic management, decision-making and supervision of the university according to the law, so as to promote the construction and development of all work of the college.

At the award ceremony, awards were given to the teachers who won the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Law School, Advanced Individual in Enrollment, and excellent year-end assessment. Mr. Wang Jinyuan, Mr. Yang Zhiqiong, Mr. Yang Dengfeng, and Mr. Xiong Zhanglin were awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Law School; Mr. Wang Xinyu and Mr. Wan Qianhui were awarded the Advanced Individual in Enrollment of the Law School; Mr. Zhang Yunhao, Ms. Zhang Xuelian, Mr. Yang Zhiqiong, Ms. Lu Lu, Ms. Wang Yuan, Ms. Liu Yifan, Mr. Ji Yang, Mr. Bi Wenxuan, Mr. Qian Xiaoping, Mr. Miao Zeyi, Mr. Ye Quan, and Mr. Feng Yuqing were awarded the Outstanding Teachers in the End-of-the-Year Examination of Professional and Technical Posts, and Mr. Dong Guozhen, Ms. Ma Yanghua, Ms. Wang Weiwei were awarded the Excellent Teachers in the End-of-the-Year Examination of Management Posts, while Ms. Fei Qianqian, and Mr. Wang Weiwei were awarded the excellent teachers of the end-of-year assessment of the ideology and politics post. 

Finally, in the appointment session, Mr. Mao Huixi was appointed as the chairman of the Committee of Caring for the Next Generation of Southeast University School of Law, and Mr. Gao Ge was appointed as the director of the Alumni Work Committee of Southeast University School of Law. They expressed that they would continue to promote the caring for the next generation work and alumni work vigorously, and add bricks and mortar to the construction and development of the college!

Item 2: Alumni Work Development Conference

This alumni work development conference was hosted by Mr. Gao Ge, Director of the Alumni Work Committee of the School of Law, who emphasized that alumni development is an important indicator of the quality of talent cultivation in the School, and that the School should build up a good platform for alumni development and promote close cooperation among alumni.

At the conference, alumni representatives from all over the country shared their insights and outlook. Cui Xiaofeng, representative of Shanghai Alumni Association, recalled his study experience in Southeast University School of Law and hoped that the School could continue to take advantage of its educational resources and achieve better development; Yue Cailiang, representative of Xuzhou Alumni Association Law Branch, expressed his deep respect and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders and teachers, and firmly said that he would bear in mind the school motto of stopping at the highest level of perfection and devote himself to becoming a warm-hearted legal person; Cao Haibing, representative of Lianyungang Alumni Association Law Branch, reported on the experiences and prospects of Lianyungang. Cai Weizhuan, representative of Zhejiang Alumni Association Law Branch, spoke highly of Southeast University's pragmatic school spirit and expressed his hope to build Zhejiang Alumni Association into a closely-connected organization full of Dongda's feelings; Zhang Yurun, representative of Zhejiang Alumni Association Law Branch, shared the cultural origins of Shaoxing, and sincerely invited the students of the School of Law to go to Shaoxing to explore more opportunities for cooperation; Suzhou Alumni Association Law Branch, representative of Suzhou Alumni Association Law Branch, shared the cultural origin of Shaoxing, and invited all the leaders and teachers to attend the inaugural meeting of Beijing Alumni Association Law Branch. At this special moment, the retired teachers who are concerned about the development of the Law School also sent their earnest messages to the teachers and students at the Law School.

Mr. Song Tao, the representative of retired teachers, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Law School for its achievements and hoped that the School would continue to uphold the development concept of innovation and forge ahead.

Mr. Meng Hongzhi expressed his heartfelt joy for the remarkable achievements made by the School this year and extended his warm New Year congratulations to all the teachers and alumni present. He said that he would continue to actively carry out scientific research and promote the research of topics, and contribute to the further high-quality development of the college.

Wang Yuan, the representative of young teachers, sincerely thanked the College of Law and all the leaders for providing a valuable development platform for young teachers. She deeply felt that the strength of the college has injected confidence and power into the teachers, enabling them to meet new challenges with pride. On the occasion of this Chinese New Year, Ms. Wang Yuan sincerely wishes all the leaders, alumni and teachers a happy new year and good luck in the year of dragon.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary Liu Qichuan summarized the meeting. First of all, he reviewed the remarkable achievements made by the Law School in education quality, scientific research innovation and talent cultivation in the past year, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and students for their hard work. Secretary Liu emphasized that, standing on a new starting point, the Law School will, as always, maintain a high morale, adhere to the college culture of educating students warmly and sharply, keep moving forward, be brave to explore, and strive to create even more brilliant achievements in the future development.
